The OnePlus 5T Could Avoid The OnePlus 5’s ‘Jelly’ Scrolling Effect

Earlier this year when the OnePlus 5 was launched, it seemed that some users had noticed a weird effect on the display when scrolling. It almost appeared to be jelly-like in nature and gave off the illusion that maybe the phone was lagging (it wasn’t). It was an odd effect and the good news is that the OnePlus 5T could avoid that issue.

According to the folks at XDA who took a look at the phone’s kernel, it seems that the display of the OnePlus 5T has been mounted more “traditionally” this time, meaning that the jelly effect should not be present. For those unfamiliar, the jelly issue seemed to have to do with the display of the OnePlus 5 having been installed upside down (on purpose), and given that the OnePlus 5T’s display is said to have been installed “traditionally”, presumably this means the jelly effect is gone.

OnePlus had claimed that the issue was not a defect, but at the same time we can imagine that users probably weren’t too thrilled about it either, defect or not. It seems that with the OnePlus 5T the company might have learnt from their mistakes, although we have yet to check out the phone ourselves so we can’t be 100% sure if the jelly scrolling effect is gone.

The OnePlus 5T is currently set for a release on the 21st of November where it will be priced starting at $499.

LG G6 In Three Color Configurations

Smartphones these days for the most part come in a black/grey finish by default. Given how “safe” black or dark colors are, it’s really not that surprising. That being said as far as the LG G6 is concerned, there will be at least 3 different color options that will be offered, or at least that’s what a recent post by Evan Blass seems to suggest.
In the photo above, Blass has tweeted out renderings of the upcoming LG G6 and from what we can tell, there will be at least 3 colors to choose from. According to Blass, they are officially known as “mystic white”, “astro black”, and “ice platinum”. The former 2 colors we’ve seen before, so in reality the third option is new to us.
“Mystic white” was shown off earlier this week when it was compared side-by-side the LG G5
, while “astro black” was shown off a couple of days ago as part of an official render that was also leaked by Blass. Other than that the design of the phone seems to be in line with everything we’ve seen so far, so no surprises there.
In any case the LG G6 will be officially revealed come MWC 2017, so be sure to check back with us next week if you’d like all the details.

Xiaomi Launches Selfie Stick With Detachable Bluetooth Remote

For a brief period of time, selfie sticks were all the craze and we’re sure many of us were worried about how we’d be accidentally hit on the head and in the face by wielders of these accessories, but it seems that the trend has died down somewhat and they aren’t quite as prevalent as they once were.
Someone must have forgotten to give Xiaomi the memo because it is 2017 and the company has officially launched their own selfie stick called the Mi Selfie Stick Tripod. To Xiaomi’s credit, this isn’t just a pure selfie stick because as the name and photo above suggests, it will be more than just a selfie stick as it can also double up as a tripod for your smartphone.
It will even come with a detachable Bluetooth remote control that will let you control and trigger your smartphone’s camera from far, so no more having to run back into the frame and pose before the timer runs out, and no more weird photos of you and your arm being stretched out while holding the selfie stick, although we guess that option is still there if you want to take advantage of it.
At the moment it seems to be only available in China where Xiaomi has priced it at 89 yuan, which after conversion is rough
ly $12. Not too shabby, huh?
